Planning docket examining utility plans over the next 2 decades.
Biofuel Impacts (2006-07) Kauai Ethanol mostly imported coal. Imperium Renewables wants Malaysian Palm Oil. BlueEarth proposes to use Indonesian palm oil. Climate Impacts of Coal, Indonesian & Malaysian palm oil worse that petroleum. Energy Efficiency (2005-07). A PUC regulated statewide Energy Efficiency Negawatt Utility will manage all energy efficiency / demand side management programs effective January 2009. Wa`ahila Ridge (1996-2002). HECO’s ill-conceived proposal for a 138,000 volt power line traversing Wa`ahila Ridge defeated before the Board of Land and Natural Resources (BLNR) HECO Rate Case (1971-75). HECO can't charge ratepayers for advertising campaign seeking to increase electricity sales.
