HECO, MECO, HELCO Public Meeting  re Blackouts (State Capitol, Monday, October 23)

Hawaii Energy Strategy 2007 (HES 2007). (October 24 Time: 9 am - noon). DBEDT & their subcontractor Rocky Mountain Institute (RMI) will hold the second of four public meetings to promote their Speakers are limited to bureaucrats and contractors. The public may make comments after 11 am.

Chancellor's Energy Summit  (Jefferson Hall, East West Center, October 24 Time: 8 am - noon). UH Manoa will hold a conference at the East West Center to talk about how the campus can become greener. Presenters will include mainland college representatives, government and HECO, but not the community.  UH Manoa electricity bill:  $15M (2005), $17.9M (2006), $21.3M* (2007)
